Contemporary Monologues

Objective: The students will demonstrate their understanding of contemporary monologues by performing one for the class.

The students will demonstrate their understanding of choosing a monologue by finding a monologue they will work on throughout the unit.

Lesson 2: Creating a Character

The students will demonstrate their understanding of creating a character by filling out a worksheet on their monologue character.

Lesson 3: Environment

The students will demonstrate their understanding of creating an environment for their monologue by drawing their monologue environment.

Lesson 4: Blocking

The students will demonstrate their understanding of blocking their monologues by writing out their blocking on their monologue.

Lesson 5: Memorization

Students will demonstrate their ability to memorize their monologues by reciting it for the teacher.

Lesson 6: Monologue Previews

The students will demonstrate their understanding of performing monologues by performing for the class and receiving feedback.

Lesson 7: Monologue Work Day

The students will demonstrate their understanding of monologues by rehearsing their monologues.

Lesson 8: Monologue Performances

The students will demonstrate their understanding of monologues by performing for the class.
