Lesson Plans
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the different elements and styles of comedy by analyzing comedic clips from movies and T.V. shows.
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the history of Commedia Dell Arte by participating in group teaching and by playing a Jeopardy type quiz game.
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the different stock characters of Commedia by performing as the characters in a final scene to be done at the end of the unit and through improvisational activities.
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the movements of the seven stock characters of Commedia by participating in movement exercises.
Students will show their knowledge of the basic outline of a commedia show by writing and performing a short scene that includes commedia characters, a conflict and a resolution.
Students will display their knowledge of the costumes, props and masks of Commedia by designing their own characters costumes, masks and listing any props they might use.
Students will show their ability to work in a group, organize a script outline and run an effective rehearsal by working together to prepare for their final scenes.
