- It’s like letting you see the landmarks of your story.
- Let’s you know what you need to definitely include so you can get where you want to.
- Important things should be big and small details small.
- Add pictures or symbols to help you remember.
- Beg Mid End
- Climax
- Inciting Incident
- Have the students work together as a group to create the story map

- As a class sit down and review the story.
- Ask if anyone could retell the story based off of the story map.
- Let someone try and see if the class can fill in anything they missed.
Instruction: Introduce Final Project
- Students should pick a favourite character. Could be one of the more main characters or one that isn’t often represented.
- Not just a bad guy, It could be Grandma in Little Red Riding Hood.
- Your final assessment is to tell a 2-3 minute story to the class from this character's perspective. You can tell the original story but from their perspective or you can tell an original story that didn’t happen in your character's main story. So you could tell Little Red Riding Hood from Grandma’s Perspective or you could tell a story about your childhood as granny when you.
- When you decide on your character I want you to create a story map for the original story on one side and another story map of the new story on the other side.
- Story Map Should include
- beg mid end
- climax
- inciting incident
- Original Story Title and Character name
- Throw out Coloured pencils for the students and let them go, check in with each one.
Closer
- If students didn't complete their story maps in class they can take them home to finish them. They will be due at the beginning of next class.
