Objective Students will demonstrate their ability to understand storyline by creating a storyline and characters and begin to make puppets that go along with their story.

Objective Students will demonstrate their understanding of scoring a poem by beginning to score their own and working on their poem in pairs.

Objective Students will demonstrate their ability to control their voice by performing a nursery rhyme.

Objective Students will demonstrate their ability to understand tone of voice by participating in the activities, choosing a poem, and beginning to work on it.

Objective Students will demonstrate their ability to utilize voice and diction concepts by performing their puppet show.

Objective Students will demonstrate their ability to further understand voice and diction by performing their puppet show and taking a short quiz.

Objective Students will demonstrate their understanding of vocal characteristics used when speaking on stage by performing a poem.

Objective Students will demonstrate their ability to incorporate effective hand gestures or movement in their poems.

Curriculum units under 'Tech Design' fall under specific technical theatre topics such as costuming, makeup, lights, sound, props, and scenic design as well as general theatre production jobs. Focus is on understanding and design of specific tech theatre elements.

Curriculum units under 'Movement' include anything to get young performers more comfortable in their bodies and stronger in their physicality. Topics can include pantomime, dance, mask work, animal imagery, etc.

Curriculum units under 'History of Theatre' include theatre history time periods, theatre genres and 'isms/styles, how theatre and its jobs came to be, and cohesive theatre/acting methods. These units can stand by themselves, or lessons and ideas from them can be inserted into other curriculum work to make connections between the history of theatre and a specific theatre concept/skill.

Curriculum units under 'Characterization' focus on creating a solid character for the stage. Instructional strategies, activities and exercises allow for much diversity in style and product for the characterization study.

Curriculum submitted under 'Lessons' include instruction on a specific theatre topic or principle. Lessons can serve as stand-alone lessons or can be inserted into any curriculum unit of instruction.
